During our conversations, when it came to his sex life, he stated in an extremely timid and somewhat surprised manner that he had not had any sexual intercourse for the last 4 years. The erectile dysfunction he experienced during his last sexual intercourse had made him fearful of sexuality and unable to approach any partner. Erol expressed that he himself realized this situation for the first time, but that his testicular pain had also been ongoing for roughly the same duration. In our examinations, we determined that Erol had no health issues and was not experiencing any problem that would lead to sexual problems or testicular pain. Erol was experiencing severe performance anxiety due to fear of failure, comforting himself by thinking that he was not engaging in intercourse because of testicular pain. Ultimately, Erol overcame this performance anxiety through psychotherapy and sex therapy.
