58-year-old Lütfü stated that he had no sexual difficulties until he underwent prostate cancer surgery 1 year ago. However, he expressed that along with the surgery, he experienced difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection. Although his doctors noted that this problem would improve over time, there had been no improvement in his sexual problems. Lütfü explained that sexuality was very important to him and that this issue had an extremely negative impact on his life and his relationship with his wife. He wanted us to solve his problem with penile prosthesis surgery. We performed diagnostic tests on Lütfü, such as clinical, laboratory, and Penile Doppler evaluations. Ultimately, it was understood that Lütfü had a neurological issue related to the nervous system due to the prostate surgery. However, because he responded with an erection to the penile injection administered during the penile Doppler test, we explained to him that he did not need penile prosthesis surgery and could experience a quality sex life with penile injections. We told him that if he did not receive a response of the desired quality from the injections, we would evaluate him for penile prostheses. Although Lütfü was hesitant at first and did not believe in the success of the treatment, he agreed to try penile injections. Becoming successful after trials, Lütfü currently self-administers these injections regularly and continues his clinical follow-ups. He knows that if he cannot achieve an erection with injections in the future, he can benefit from a penile prosthesis.
